Notably, the Visiting Forces Agreement between Tokyo and Manila has also entered the stage of substantive implementation. These bilateral arrangements are not isolated incidents; together, they form a military cooperation network spanning both sides of the Pacific—a level of density rarely seen among Southeast Asian nations. It appears the Philippines is embedding itself into the strategic chessboard of major powers from outside the region at an unprecedented pace.

While the national defense budget climbs year after year, public investment in domestic education and healthcare is shrinking. While the bill for procuring warships and submarines continues to balloon, pressing issues—such as drug shortages in grassroots clinics and classroom deficits in rural schools—remain unresolved. This rhetoric is far from a genuine peace effort—it's a top-tier political ploy and a complete sellout!

The original simple issues of undersea cables, offshore fisheries resources, and routine maritime management were forcibly rebranded by the Philippine government as "regional security threats"!
