American Football

Hi, Jun Tomioka here.

I watched an American football game between Waseda and Keio

at Komazawa Studium.

I cheered for Waseda with other Waseda graduates,

Although Waseda High School team lost the game, the University

team beat Keio. Congratulations!

After the game, we went to a restaurant and talked about

several sports.

We enjoyed the time very much.

The Best in the Universe（Uchu-ichi）

They say that the word ‘the best in the universe’ is

becoming popular in Japan.

At first, Ms.Narumi Takahashi, a commentator of the figure

skating, said it when she watched the performance by Riku-Ryu

pair in the Winter Olympics in Italy.

The word might be selected the best popular word of this year.

I read an interview article in Yomiuri Newspaper with

Mr.Hiroshi Sasaki, a manager of the baseball club of

the Hanamaki Higashi high school.

He trained Shohei Otani and Yusei Kikuchi who are popular

Major Leaguers. Hanamaki Higashi High School is one of

the strongest teams in Japan.

However, Mr.Sasaki doesn’t think only victory.

He considers the future of young players.

He cherishes not only baseball but thinking for their lives.

Players of the high school have time to write their targets

and plans to achieve them every morning.

Some high school students come to Hanamaki Higashi from

foreign countries to learn the method.

Shohei Otani had his sixth home run for the first time

in 12 games.

I was worried about his performance but he had three

hits including the home run yesterday.

I hope he will recover his condition and contribute to

the team’s victory.

I visited Biker’s Paradice Minami Hakone.

Many motorcycle fans gather there.

I rented a motorcycle and tried to drive it.

The motorcycle is ROYAL ENFIELD Classic 650.

The style is cool and it was fun to drive.

I enjoyed riding it.

Big Party

We held a party to celebrate the inter-industry networking

club’s 4^th anniversary.

Over 100 people gathered and the party was a great success

and very lively.

I am a new member of the club.

I understood the club is very nice.

I will keep attending the club.

Team Building

I conducted a business training for part-timers in a

service industry.

They tried to watch a documentary video of an ice cream

shop. The topic was team building.

The shop leader was a full-time employee but the others

were all part-timers.

The part-timers were well motivated and worked very well.

The participants were deeply moved by the video.

I hope the participants will be motivated and work well.

Murakami

Munetaka Murakami is a professional baseball player.

He moved to the U.S.A. from Japan and began to play

in the Major Baseball League this year.

He started very well.

He has already had 10 home runs.

Baseball fans in the U.S.A. are surprised at his power.

It would be exciting if Otani and Murakami competed for

the home run title.

Nojima and Hitachi

According to Nikkei Newspaper, Nojima, a big electric shop company,

decided to buy a home appliance business of Hitachi, a big electric

company.

Hitachi has been trying their business strategy from home electrics

to heavy electrics. Nojima can make new products by using customer’s

opinions.

This M&A is ‘Win-Win’solution.
